Defending champions Nigeria advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket with a dominant 83–47 win over Cameroon on Thursday in Abidjan.
The Nigerians, four-time consecutive title holders, overpowered Cameroon from start to finish with a suffocating defense and balanced scoring, securing a place in Saturday’s semifinal against Senegal.
Senegal reached the last four after edging out host nation Côte d’Ivoire 66–60 in a tense quarterfinal battle, rallying from a double-digit deficit to stay in the hunt for their first AfroBasket title since 2015.

In the other semifinal, Mali will face debutants South Sudan. Mali sealed their spot with an 86–68 win over Mozambique, while South Sudan continued their historic run with a surprise win over Uganda.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, August 2, with both winners earning places in the AfroBasket final and securing qualification to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments.
