Alongside football glory, Israel celebrated Nigeria’s dominance in the African Armwrestling Championship — hosted in Abuja — where Team Nigeria emerged as continental champions under the stewardship of SSA Adeboye as Local Organizing Committee Chairman.

He acknowledged the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing youth and sports across his Renewed Hope Agenda, writing:

“Your commitment to sports development has given Nigerian youths a platform to shine across disciplines—from football to armwrestling.”

Israel commended the Falcons’ unwavering spirit after trailing 2‑0 early in the final:

“Your resilience reflects the strength and courage inherent in Nigerian youth. You fought back, scored three, and brought home the trophy. That is what our young leaders do!”

He also extended gratitude to the President for ongoing support of grassroots initiatives, further noting that Nigeria’s armwrestling success, achieved under Adeboye’s LOC leadership, demonstrates the breadth of talent and determination among Nigerian youth.

“This weekend, Nigeria proved again that we are champions at heart. From the pitch in Rabat to the armwrestling table in Abuja, our athletes delivered greatness. We must continue to encourage and support our youth to succeed on every stage.”

In closing, Israel called on Nigerians—especially young people—to continue supporting national teams and grassroots movements:

“Let’s elevate sports beyond fandom. Let’s invest in the future. Our youth are writing history. Let’s cheer them on.”

His message resonated across political and social circles, reflecting a unified desire to celebrate and sustain Nigeria’s growing sports excellence.
