WAFCON 2024: CAF Names Antsino Twanyanyukwa As Official For Super Falcons vs Morocco Encounter

CAF officially announced Antsino Twanyanyukwa, Namibian referee would officiate the WAFCON final between Nigeria and Morocco, to be held on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024 took place from 5 to 26 July 2025, with CAF selecting record numbers of match officials to oversee the tournament – 18 referees, 18 assistant referees, and 10 VARs from 30 different African countries.

CAF’s Refereeing Chief, Désiré Noumandiez Doué, praised Twanyanyukwa for “consistent quality and performance,” noting her excellence in tactical awareness, match control, anticipation and fitness. CAF had monitored her over the past three years, confident she could handle a high-stakes fixture at continental level.

Twanyanyukwa herself expressed humility and determination, saying:

“I didn’t expect this at all; I’m still in shock. But with God, all things are possible … We have to go in with the mindset that the whole continent is watching and give our absolute best.”

This appointment marked a historic milestone as she became the first Namibian ever to officiate a WAFCON final.
