Nigerian center-back James Ibrahim has emerged as a rising defensive talent after a determined journey that took him from a trial in Dubai to the captaincy of AS Roma Academy in Abuja.
Ibrahim was first scouted in Ghana in 2022 and offered a three-month trial with a second-division club in the United Arab Emirates, which he successfully completed before being officially registered in the league.

After a solid season in Dubai, his progress was halted when the club failed to renew his residency documents, forcing him to leave the country despite strong on-field performances.
He then moved to Turkey in search of new opportunities but faced difficulties at his new club and left after six months due to unfair treatment.
Refusing to give up, Ibrahim contacted the AS Roma Academy in Abuja with his highlights and was promptly accepted based on his evident talent and potential.
Since joining, he has impressed with his leadership, defensive strength, and composure on the ball, earning the role of team captain in a short time.
Now back in Nigeria, Ibrahim is focused on rebuilding momentum and pursuing his dream of playing professional football in Europe.
