President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria following their hard-fought victory over South Africa in the semi-final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), describing it as a “superlative win” and charging the team to go all the way and bring the trophy home.
The Super Falcons advanced to the final of the tournament on Tuesday after overcoming South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in a tense encounter, further fueling hopes of a 10th continental title for the dominant Nigerian side.

Nigeria will face Morocco in the final on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Rabat.
