Nigeria’s cricket national team, Yellow Greens’ head coach, Steve Tikolo says a very huge benefit of featuring at the ongoing Pearl Of Africa Series in Kampala, Uganda is that his side will pick up useful international ranking points during the competition.
Sports247 reports that, though many critics believe the Nigerian team stands no chance in competing against Kenya, Namibia, United Arab Emirates and hosts Uganda, Tikolo reckoned that they would acquire useful experience from the encounters.

Tikolo added, “This is a big opportunity for us, because all these teams are ranked above us. I believe we will be able to get some good experience through competitive cricket in this setting.
“It’s also an opportunity for us to collect some useful ranking points at stake here.”
Steve Tikolo disclosed further that his players are quite eager and full of determination to prove their mettle during the competition, which began on Thursday.
He, however, admitted that they did not have the best level of preparations, especially as regular rains disrupted many of the training sessions and build-up matches they planned before their trip to Kampala.
“We went about our training sessions as professionally as can be, but the weather was not favourable to us.
“We managed to play six T20 practice matches. We would have loved to play more, but we can’t control the weather,” Tikolo conceded, while staying optimistic for a run of surprise results by his squad
