The former Roda JC Kerkrade and Ajax Amsterdam of Holland star stated, “It’s more than a year now that it happened. It was last year May and, from July (2024), we have been in the Netherlands for our treatment.

Babangida, who was fondly called ‘Grasscutter’ during his playing days, disclosed further: “As for my wife, she’s fine, and she’s good. After all that happened, if you had seen the impact on her then and how she is now, you’ll know that she’s really recovering well.

“That’s because all the technology they have in Europe is so amazing. They never rush into doing their things. They take their time and do it right.”

The member of Nigeria’s gold medal-winning under-23 national team at Atlanta ’96 Olympics concluded by expressing optimism that his wife will soon be back on her feet and people from all around will join him in marvelling over her full recovery.

“Very soon, she will also come out, and the whole world will see her. Many people will be happy to see her back because the doctors here are doing a very great job,” Babangida eulogised
