Nigeria’s Yellow Greens U‑19 cricket team, under head coach Steve Tikolo, have set up a fixture list featuring Uganda, Kenya, Namibia, and the UAE, seeing it as a strategic test ahead of the upcoming ILT20 Cup in Uganda in late 2025.
Tikolo, a legendary Kenyan all‑rounder, emphasized facing higher‑ranked opponents to garner ranking points and sharpen match temperament.

He admitted Nigeria’s rainy season hampered domestic training but expressed confidence in the team’s preparation during camp in Lagos and abroad.
“Playing stronger opponents raises our game,” Tikolo said.
“It’s been tough at home due to adverse weather, but the experience is invaluable.”
A 20-man squad departed Lagos for Uganda ahead of the tournament scheduled July 24–27, blending experienced campaigners and promising recruits in a key development opportunity.
The tour serves as final preparation before the ILT20 Cup, where Nigeria aims to capitalize on exposure to build a more competitive U‑19 side and enhance pathways into the senior national setup.
