Bay FC has officially added forward Onyeaka Paloma Gamero to their roster, signing her through 2028 after a two-year spell with FC Barcelona Femení Team B.
The 19-year-old Californian—of-Spanish-and-Nigerian-descent blew onto the professional scene in June 2023 at Barcelona B, tallying 9 appearances, 2 goals, and 1 assist before unfortunately suffering a torn ACL late in the year.

Bay FC sees her recruitment as a “long-term asset,” with head coach Albertin Montoya emphasising her versatility and threat across the frontline.
Gamero, who brings an impressive youth pedigree—including roles in the U17 Women’s World Cup (2022) and reaching the Concacaf U-20 final (2023)—as well as recent 2x U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year nominations, expressed her enthusiasm:
“I’m beyond excited to sign with Bay FC… this is the perfect place for me to develop into the player I know I can be, and I can’t wait to represent the Bay with pride, passion, and purpose.”
Her arrival makes her the second player of Nigerian descent at Bay FC—joining forces with Super Falcons icon Asisat Oshoala—marking a growing trend in multicultural excellence at the club.
It’s also a significant boost for Bay FC, especially after a slow start in the NWSL; Montoya believes Gamero’s return to practice signals positive momentum.
