On the heels of Nigeria’s goalless campaign in the group stage, centre-back Tosin Demehin reaffirmed the Falcons’ self-belief heading into the quarter-finals.
“We finished the group stage without conceding a goal,” Demehin stated proudly, summarizing the collective defensive efforts that secured back-to-back shutouts .

She warned Zambia that while they possess attacking flair, they’ve also shown vulnerability in conceding goals—a chink Nigeria plans to exploit.
Demehin asserted that Nigeria remains the benchmark in African women’s football and that there’s no reason to expect anything less.
“Though Zambia are a good side, they have been conceding goals in their past matches,” she said.
The rear-guard core is confident that by maintaining focus and organizational discipline, they’ll weather Zambia’s offensive threats.
With Nigeria prepared to meet Zambia on Friday, Demehin concluded: “We will be ready and will carry the day.” The statement reflects not only belief in their defensive resilience but also readiness for the physical and tactical challenges ahead.
