“President Muhammadu Buhari was not just a leader—he was a symbol of selfless service, uprightness, and uncompromising discipline. His legacy is one that will remain deeply etched in the history of our country,” Adeboye said.

Reflecting on Buhari’s dual role as both military ruler (1983–1985) and civilian president (2015–2023), Adeboye noted the late president’s resilience and conviction, even in the face of criticism.

“Baba Buhari served Nigeria through the most turbulent and defining periods in our national life. He stood for what he believed in—national integrity, security, and a fight against corruption that many thought was impossible to tackle,” he stated.

Adeboye also remembered Buhari’s personal integrity and Spartan lifestyle, which earned him admiration even from political opponents.

“As someone who works closely with young people and emerging leaders, I can say without hesitation that President Buhari’s values—discipline, duty, and simplicity—will continue to inspire future generations,” he added.

While expressing personal grief, Adeboye extended heartfelt condolences to Buhari’s family and close associates.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family of President Muhammadu Buhari during this difficult time. May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and strengthen those he left behind,” he concluded.

Funeral arrangements are expected to follow Islamic rites, with tributes pouring in from across the country and around the world
