Warri Wolves reignited their push for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with an emphatic 3-0 win over Kun Khalifat FC in their second Group B game at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs.
The match, played on Monday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, saw the Delta-based side bounce back strongly after their opening-day loss to Osun United.

Jude Ebhohon fired Warri Wolves into the lead with a quickfire brace in the first half, putting them firmly in control. Yarhere Efe added a third in the 66th minute to seal the win, but was later shown a red card, forcing his team to finish the match with 10 men.
The victory secured Warri Wolves’ first three points of the playoffs and lifted them to second in Group B behind Osun United, who played out a 1-1 draw with Crown FC in the other group fixture.
With each team having now played two games, Group B remains wide open. All four teams — Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, and Kun Khalifat FC — remain in contention for the two NPFL promotion tickets available, with the final Matchday set to be decisive.
A similar scenario is unfolding in Group A, where Desert Yobe Stars climbed to the top of the table with four points after a narrow 2-1 win over Doma United.
Meanwhile, Barau FC and Wikki Tourists played out a goalless draw, leaving both sides on two points after two rounds.
With only one game left to play for each team, qualification in both groups will go down to the wire as all eight teams remain mathematically in the race for NPFL promotion.
