Adepoju, known for his leadership and commitment during his playing days, expressed admiration for how the Super Falcons have represented Nigeria on the continental and global stages.
“The Super Falcons have always been at the forefront of women’s football in Africa,” he said. “They are true leaders in the game, and I’m confident they will prove that again in this tournament.”
Nigeria heads into the competition as the most successful team in WAFCON history, with nine titles under their belt. The Super Falcons are now seeking a record-extending tenth championship and are widely considered favorites to go all the way.
Adepoju encouraged the players to stay focused, work together, and give their all as they aim for glory. “They must go in with the right mentality, believe in themselves, and play as a team. With their experience and talent, they have what it takes,” he added.
He also acknowledged the rising level of competition on the continent, noting that other nations are rapidly improving and will pose serious challenges. However, he remains confident in the Super Falcons’ ability to stand tall.
As the team prepares for their opening match against Tunisia on Sunday, Adepoju’s message comes as a morale boost. His support adds to the growing anticipation as Nigeria’s women aim to make history once again in African football
