Nigerian footballers Obi Chima and Isah Buhari have officially begun training with Armenian Premier League side FC Alashkert after completing their transfers to the club on July 1.
The duo joined their new teammates in Yerevan for their first training session, where they took part in tactical drills and fitness routines under the supervision of head coach Albert Safaryan.
Chima, an 18-year-old winger, impressed with his speed and movement during attacking exercises, while Buhari, a central midfielder, showed composure and control in possession-based drills.
Alashkert is preparing for the 2025/26 season with several new additions, and both Nigerian players are expected to feature in the club’s upcoming pre-season matches as they aim to improve on last season’s performance.
Club sources say the pair will bring energy and depth to the squad, with high expectations for their contributions in the Armenian top flight.
