In a remarkable show of generosity and community spirit, Nigerian international and forgotten Super Eagles winger Anayo Iwuala has donated jerseys and football equipment to Igho Football Academy and several grassroots clubs in Ughelli, Delta State.
Iwuala, who has two caps for the Super Eagles under coach Gernot Rohr, currently plies his trade with Al Arabi SC in the Kuwait Premier League, visited Igho Football Academy on Wednesday.

He was accompanied by the Chairman of Ughelli North Football Council, Mr. Onome Ikrechero, Nigerian junior international Simon Akpomedaye, and Ebuka Iwuala.
The winger, once a budding talent on the same pitch with Excellent Football Academy, donated kits and equipment to Igho Football Academy.
The gesture warmly received by the academy’s coaches and players. He encouraged the young footballers to stay committed and resilient in pursuit of their dreams, stating, “Dreams do come true.”
Anayo praised the work of grassroots coaches, commending them for their tireless efforts in nurturing talent.
He promised to continue supporting the development of young players in the region.
Coach Igho, a former Nigeria U20 international and founder of the academy, lauded Iwuala’s thoughtfulness and generosity, calling him a true son of the soil. “Anayo has not forgotten his roots.
” His visit and donations mean a lot to these young players. May God continue to bless and uplift him,” he said.
In addition to the kits, Iwuala also distributed 100 footballs to football clubs within and outside Ughelli, further underlining his commitment to grassroots development.
Mr. Ikrechero praised the gesture, describing Anayo as a “worthy ambassador of Ughelli football,” and prayed for greater success in his career.
Iwuala’s outreach serves as a shining example of using one’s platform to give back. His actions not only provide much-needed resources to young athletes but also inspire hope and ambition in the next generation of Nigerian footballers.
