Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has opened his goal account in the Norwegian Eliteserien, scoring his first league goal for Molde FK in their dramatic 3-2 away win against Vålerenga Oslo on Saturday.

Daga, a former Flying Eagles star, came off the bench in the 77th minute and wasted no time making an impact.

Just three minutes later, in the 80th minute, he struck a fine shot inside the box that soared into the roof of the net, leveling the scoreline for Molde at the time.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the 17-year-old took to his official Facebook page to express his feelings, writing:

“Unless they kill God. Unbelievable feeling! First league goal and it’s a moment of pure joy!”

The goal marked a significant milestone for Daga, who had featured in six league matches prior to breaking his duck.

He registered two shots during the game, one of which found the back of the net in spectacular fashion.

Daga’s performance continues to underline the potential he showed at youth level for Nigeria and will no doubt boost his confidence as he aims to cement a regular place in Molde’s midfield.

Molde’s victory over Vålerenga sees them gain crucial points in their push up the Eliteserien standings.
