The President of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), Engineer Toke Aka, has extended warm Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, emphasizing the importance of the celebration’s core values—faith, sacrifice, and unity.
Aka, who also serves as an executive member of the World English Scrabble Players Association (WESPA), lauded the contributions of Muslim athletes, players, coaches, officials, and supporters to the development of Scrabble and sports in general.
He described their dedication as a significant source of strength and inspiration to the game.
“Eid-ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, is a profound reminder of the virtues of faith, humility, obedience, and compassion,” said Aka, a hydro engineer by profession.
He further noted, “It is a time that calls on us to reflect on the values of unity, generosity, and service to one another—principles that also lie at the heart of our beautiful mind sport.”
Aka expressed hope that the celebration would foster a renewed spirit of togetherness in communities and promote a more inclusive Scrabble culture in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
He concluded with prayers for peace, safety, joy, and good health for all during the festive period.
