Arokodare Hails Coach Eric Chelle: “He Inspires Confidence in Players”

Nigerian forward Toluwalase Arokodare has praised Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, describing him as a manager who brings out the best in his players by instilling confidence and staying true to his football philosophy.

Arokodare, who has earned his first few national team appearances under Chelle, shared how the coach’s approach has helped him feel welcomed and motivated.

“I would say as a person first, he’s an amazing person. A very free man. He always gives you that open arms, like you could always talk to me if there’s anything,” Arokodare said.

On the tactical side, the striker noted that Chelle sticks to his own footballing identity and encourages his players to be expressive on the pitch.

“As a coach, he knows how he wants to play. He doesn’t change his style for anything. He likes hardworking players, players with a lot of confidence, and players who are not shy to play.”

Arokodare added that Chelle’s trust in his squad motivates the team to deliver their best.

“He gives you that confidence. He wants you to show yourself. Because first, for you to be in the national team, you have that talent. So he wants you to bring that out and not keep it in. He’s just amazing. Really, he’s just amazing.”

The comments come as the Super Eagles feature in key international fixtures, with several players, including Arokodare, cementing their place under the new coach.
