The Super Falcons of Nigeria secured a commanding 2–0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in an international friendly on Tuesday evening at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade was the difference, scoring both goals in the first half to cap off a well-coordinated team performance.

Nigeria took the lead in the 28th minute when Ajibade calmly converted from the penalty spot following a defensive infringement in the Cameroonian box.
The second goal came just before halftime, as Ajibade finished off a quick attacking move, assisted by Rinsola Babajide, in the second minute of added time (45+2’). The Falcons went into the break with a deserved 2–0 advantage.
In the second half, coach Justin Madugu introduced changes to maintain momentum. Bolaji Olamide and Christy Ucheibe came on for Babajide and Toni Payne, while later Cordella Odoma replaced Jennifer Echegini to help see out the result.
Despite late efforts from Cameroon and five minutes of added time, the Nigerian defense stood firm to preserve a clean sheet. The win adds to the team’s growing confidence ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The Super Falcons will next turn their attention to another friendly against Portugal, as preparations continue in full gear for what promises to be a defining summer in African women’s football.
