Ogun2025: Kaduna’s Young Darters’ Star Praise Jonah Embraces Festival Challenge

Praise Jonah, a 16-year-old darter representing Kaduna State, says competing at his second National Sports Festival has fueled his passion and determination.

Jonah, who has played darts for three years, first appeared at Delta 2022 and returned this year ready to take on more experienced opponents.

“Playing among senior categories means a lot. Some of my mates didn’t get the chance to come, but I’m here today—I thank God,” he told Sports247 at the Abeokuta Sports Club.

Jonah has already played three matches in the knockout stages and has three more to go. When asked about the difficulty of this year’s competition, he admitted the level has risen. “Everybody improved.

The competition is very high. The last festival wasn’t this tough, so you have to train harder for each game.”

Looking ahead, Jonah is aiming for medals and believes this festival will shape his future in the sport. “I know I’ll get more medals!” he declared.

As the young talent continues his run, all eyes are on Jonah as he seeks to add to Kaduna’s medal haul and build on his growing dart career.
