Former youth international, Soga Sambo has advised players and coaches of the Flying Eagles to pray hard and work together in order to overcome South Africa on Thursday.

Soga, who was born in Kaduna and shot into limelight playing for Pepsi Football Academy in The City of Crocodiles, reasoned that working together as one is a huge asset Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side will have to utilise.
The dazzling player, who featured in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) with Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Kwara United of Ilorin, Niger Tornadoes of Minna, Sharks of Port Harcourt and Sunshine Stars of Akure, added that prayers will also work for the Nigerian lads against the South Africans.
The fair-skinned lad, who also played in Cote d’Ivoire, Finland and South Africa at the height of his career, retorted: “My little advice for the team is just for them to come together, put their heads together and pray.
“Prayer is very, very important, and it’s one of the keys for success. They also need to push. Let them push hard and put their heads together to make it work.”
The 39-year-old former midfielder, who played for the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, disclosed further that he will also be praying hard for Zubairu’s side to pull through on Thursday, as he knows the value of winning crucial matches.
“Once the heads are not together in a team, there’s no way they can get results. We need to put our heads together, so we can push together and move together. I also wish them all the best,” Soga concluded.
