In a strategic move to enhance the development of armwrestling within the Greater Accra Region, the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) has appointed a new leadership team to oversee regional operations over a two-year mandate.
Leading the newly constituted executive is Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Donkor, a distinguished sports administrator and law enforcement officer, who assumes the role of Chairperson.

Supporting her in this mission are Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) Gordon Saah as Vice Chairman, Mr. Henry Quarshie as Secretary, Mr. Percy Kwesi Amuah as Treasurer, Mr. Alberto Paa Nii Aryee, a seasoned Brand and Communications Consultant, as Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kendrick Aryee as Marketing Consultant, and Miss Osman Maaida as Women’s Commissioner.
This dynamic team has been entrusted with the responsibility of spearheading the promotion and growth of armwrestling in the region.
Their mandate includes organizing regional competitions and events, discovering and nurturing emerging talent, increasing participation at the grassroots level, and fostering collaborations with both national and international stakeholders.
They are also tasked with establishing armwrestling clubs in schools, communities, and workplaces while providing training and capacity-building programs for coaches, officials, and athletes.
Chairperson DCOP Lydia Donkor expressed optimism and commitment to the task ahead, stating, “We are excited to take on this challenge and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of armwrestling in the Greater Accra Region. We look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve our objectives.”
Echoing her sentiments, Vice Chairman ACI Gordon Saah extended an invitation to all athletes, enthusiasts, and supporters to rally behind the new leadership and support the vision of making armwrestling a prominent sporting discipline in the region.
With a blend of experience, passion, and strategic direction, the new executives are poised to usher in a new era of growth for armwrestling in Greater Accra.
