Flying Eagles Must Improve In Order To Defeat Senegal On Monday – Chidi Osuchukwu

Former Flying Eagles’ star, Chidi Osuchukwu has charged the current set of players in Nigeria’s youth national team to step up all effort and improve their performance in order to defeat Senegal on Monday.

Sports247 reports that Nigeria and Senegal will lock horns at Suez Canal Stadium in Ismaili, Egypt, for the first of this year’s African U20 Cup of Nations quarter-final matches, and Osuchukwu noted that it is bound to be an explosive game.

He acknowledged that the Flying Eagles’ attack got better in their 2-2 draw with Kenya, but pointed out that their group form was not good enough – having won only their first match and then drew the remaining two.

“There is still room for improvement,” Chidi chipped in. “We need to improve. Because, aside from the first game, they haven’t been flowing well on the ball and all that.”

He then pointed out that Monday’s match, which starts at 1pm Nigeria time, will serve two important purposes for the Flying Eagles – the first of which is to pick a qualification spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup and then take a step towards winning this ongoing competition in Egypt.

“We just have to improve on our general play. The objective this time is to qualify for the World Cup. Once we win on Monday, we’ll secure that ticket and get closer to winning the AFCON as well,” Osuchukwu enunciated.

Sports247 can further report that Monday’s match will see the Flying Eagles aim to upset the applecart against Senegal, who are the defending champions and have won the last three encounters between these two sides.
