The Congress is expected to begin by 2pm Nigeria time and it will x-ray the advise by the National Sports Commission (NSC), to move the venue of the presidential election from Asaba, the Delta State capital to Abuja.
The NSC is claiming that Asaba, in Delta State, is not a neutral venue because three of the candidates seeking to lead the Athletics Federation of Nigeria for the next four years are from that State.
The Congress which is the highest organ of the Federation is expected to decide on the final venue and other arrangements for the polls.
The President of AFN was is also the President Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), Zone II, informed that all the delegates have been duly notified and all other logistics for a hitch free connective have been taken care of.
