Flying Eagles’ Captain Daniel Bameyi Gives Solid Pledge: We’ll Come Out With All We Have Against Kenya

Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles’ captain, Daniel Kolocho Bameyi has assured their fans that he and his colleagues will come out with all they have in order to defeat Kenya in their last group match at the ongoing Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Sports247 reports that the Yum Yum FC of Abuja defender admitted that all members of the team were not happy that they could not defeat Morocco on Sunday in their second group match, hence their determination to make amends versus Kenya on Wednesday.

Heading into that game, the Nigerian squad lies second on the group table, level with Morocco on four points but separated by goals difference, while Tunisia follow in third with three points, but could upset the apple cart should they defeat the Moroccans in their simultaneous fixture this midweek.

With all the permutations in mind, Bameyi admitted that the Flying Eagles can not afford another slip up, even as he acknowledged that they felt bad with Sunday’s goalless draw with Morocco.

Bameyi stated, “We believed that we would win the match, and we really wanted to. We needed to win because we wanted to get the qualification early. All the same, it was a good game, and we thank God for how it went.”

He then turned his focus on the last group match this Wednesday and tagged it a game of ‘no compromise,’ as all the players have promised to put in extra effort in order to get maximum points and finish top of the group, as they step into the quarter finals in The Land of The Pharaohs.

“No compromise. As I always tell my colleagues, there’s no joking here. Yes, it’s business, and we will come out with all we have for the next match because we want to top the group.

“We appreciate all Nigerians … our fathers, our mothers, brothers and sisters. We thank them for the prayers; but it’s not over until it’s over. So, we ask that you keep praying for us and keep supporting us,” the 19-year-old Bameyi solicited.
