Flying Eagles Will Get World Cup Ticket, Our Qualification Is Sure – Benjamin Precious

An attacker in Nigeria’s youth national team at the ongoing Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, Benjamin Precious has declared that the Flying Eagles will still qualify from their group, despite settling for a goalless draw with Morocco on Sunday.

Sports247 reports that Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side remain second with four points in Group B, while Morocco stay top on goals difference, but Tunisia put some heat on both rivals with a 3-1 spanking of Kenya earlier in the day.

This means Zubairu’s team must also defeat Kenya in their last group match on Thursday for them to pick a ticket into the quarter-finals, as Morocco earlier dumped the East Africans 3-2 in their first fixture of the group, which will wrap up first round action on Thursday.

However, while many Nigerian fans are already apprehensive of a North African gang up by Morocco and Tunisia against the Flying Eagles, Precious insists Zubairu’s wards will not only qualify from the group, but they will also pick a ticket to the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup by reaching the semi-finals of the championship in Egypt.

“Our qualification is sure, and we will get the World Cup ticket. We just want everyone in Nigeria to wish us the best. We’ll also keep trying our best to win each match in this competition,” assured Precious, a product of Ikenne-based Grassrunners Football Academy, who now plays for TSG Hoffenheim of Germany.
