Alhaji Gero Glad To Rejoin Ostersunds Of Sweden

Former Rangers International of Enugu striker, Alhaji Gero says he is happy to rejoin Ostersunds FK of Sweden, as he begins a second spell with the Scandinavian outfit.

Sports247.ng gathered that the former youth international is back in The Land of The Midnight Sun, after short spell at Esteghlal of Iran, where he made only seven appearances before breaking his contract.

Gero went for his first training session back at Ostersunds on Tuesday, as he set about commencing a second stint that should see him add to his 78 appearances and 12 goals for the side during his first time there.

The 25-year-old striker was a key member of Ostersunds’ squad that got to the Europa League round of 32 last season, before they were knocked out by Alex Iwobi’s Arsenal.

He is now exuding confidence that his second tenure with the club will be better than the first, especially as he says their fans continue showing the type of support that will motivates players to exceed all expectations.

Gero declared: “I look forward to meeting my teammates and the leaders around the team and, of course, the fans never give up.

“OFK has always meant a lot to me. This is the club where I developed myself and my game and have made myself the player I am today.

”Many players have left. The players who are now in the club have done everything possible to continue to perform and have done well.”
