Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, officially began their preparation for the 2023/24 season of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday.

Welcoming the players back a day earlier, both the Acting General Manager of 3SC, Dimeji Lawal and Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, had a meeting with the players, where they charged them to be fully ready for the new season’s hostilities , with the aspiration of a successful campaign.
“I want to welcome you all back from the break and I want to use this opportunity to let you know that the expectations from our fans will be higher this season. We need to be ready for nothing but a rewarding campaign as we cannot afford to disappoint our teeming backers this season”, said the acting GM, Dimeji Lawal.
“We must be ready to exhibit determination, dedication and discipline as theses are the tools needed to achieve our aim and on the part of the management, I am assuring you that we will do far more than what we did in previous seasons, as far as your welfare is concerned”, added Kabongo, as the ex international is popularly called.
In his own words, coach Ogunbote, warned that the team will not tolerate any player found wanting in terms of dedication to duties and discipline, adding that only players who demonstrate the required on and off the field qualities will be accommodated into the team’s programme
“We cannot afford to let down our people this time around, and for us to achieve our aims and objective, we need to put in our best performance wise and also demonstrate positive characters”, state the Oracle, as he is fondly known.
Meanwhile, the Oluyole Warriors had their first training session on Tuesday morning at the Olubadan Stadium, with both retained and new players taking part.
