The finalized entries comprise 4,961 athletes, 635 coaches, 386 team officials, and 400 state delegates.

These figures underscore the growing scale and importance of the Games, which continue to provide a vital platform for nurturing young talent and fostering unity across Nigeria.

However, it was noted that Gombe State is yet to complete DRM procedures for its contingent of 74 participants. Despite this, the official tally of registered athletes and officials stands at 6,382.

A total of 37 sporting events will be contested at this year’s Games, promising a wide display of skill, competition, and teamwork across multiple disciplines.

Defending champions Team Delta will look to retain their crown but face stiff competition from rival contingents determined to challenge for top honors.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) described the 9th National Youth Games as a celebration of talent, determination, and national unity, noting that the event will showcase the stars of tomorrow in nine days of thrilling sporting action.
