28 teams in Lagos for 2019 Legacy Volleyball Championship

Legacy Volleyball Club is a team made up of former players trying to revive the sport.

Ladele argued that if competitions were not organised for teams, players would not have the zeal to continue improving on their skills.

“The Legacy Volleyball Championship is all about imbibing the spirit of competition among volleyball players and churning out more talents in the sport.

“We are delighted that 28 male and female teams have registered for this year’s edition.

“The competition will be interesting because children from U-12, U-14, U-15 up to the senior category will compete at the event.

“Over the years, the competition has produced talents that have played for Nigeria’s national teams,” he said.

Ladele added that all the players taking part in the Legacy Volleyball Championship would be tested by an experienced medical team to ascertain their fitness level for the competition before they take part in the competition.

“A full medical team will be on the ground to also treat players in case of any eventuality.

“Because of the number of teams competing in this year’s event, we will use the Teslim Balogun Stadium volleyball court as another centre.

“Our target is to keep creating awareness of the sport to youths. The championship will be entertaining as other side attractions will be on display, just as there are exciting prizes for winners.”

He revealed that winners in the men’s category would get N500, 000, while the ladies’ champions would get N400, 000.
