The Super Eagles’ camp in Morocco is bubbling with intensity as 21 players have now arrived ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.
The atmosphere is described as lively and focused, with players showing strong enthusiasm and determination to secure Nigeria’s ticket to the global showpiece.

Among the early arrivals are key stars such as Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman.
Others already in camp include Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, and Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper who impressed at the last Africa Cup of Nations.
The squad also features exciting young talents like Benjamin Frederick and Olakunle Olusegun, alongside Tolu Arokodare, Amas Obasogie, Semi Ajayi, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Zaidu Sanusi, and Bruno Onyemaechi.
Team officials have confirmed that three more players are expected to join the squad before the end of the day, completing the 24-man list invited by head coach Eric Sekou Chelle for the all-important playoff.
Training sessions have commenced in earnest, with the technical crew emphasizing tactical discipline, team coordination, and fitness conditioning.
Sekou Chelle i and his assistants are also focusing on quick attacking transitions and defensive compactness — key areas the Super Eagles are determined to strengthen before Thursday’s clash.
Nigeria will face Gabon on Thursday, November 15, 2025, in Morocco. The winner will move a step closer to sealing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The arrival of the full squad, including star striker Victor Osimhen who is expected later today, is anticipated to further boost team morale as the Super Eagles intensify preparations for the decisive encounter.
