2026 WAFCONQ: Team Captain Rasheedat Ajibade Joins Super Falcons Camp Ahead of Benin Republic Clash

Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade has joined the Super Falcons camp in Lome, as the team intensifies preparations for their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying first-leg encounter against Benin Republic.

The Benin Republic will host the Super Falcons on Friday at the Stade de Kégué in Lome, Togo, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. local time.

The arrival of Ajibade brings the number of players in camp to 19.

Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo led a fresh group of arrivals on Tuesday night, joining teammates at the team’s base, Hotel Sarakawa, as preparations continued under head coach Justin Madugu.

Among the latest players to report to camp are Esther Okoronkwo, Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Chiwendu Ihezuo, and Deborah Abiodun, all of whom are expected to feature prominently in Friday’s encounter.

Earlier arrivals include Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ucheibe, Taiwo Afolabi, Folashade Ijamilusi, Miracle Usani, Joy Omewa, Aderonke Mgbechi, Blessing Illivieda, and Kafayat Mafisere.

Nigeria will be hoping to secure a commanding result in Lome before hosting the reverse fixture at home next week.
