On paper, Kwara United look favoured to carry the day, as they are in the top-flight Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) while their opponents from the Ebonyi State capital, Abakaliki, recently got relegated from the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) to the third cadre, Nationwide League One (NLO).

However, Alalade is not getting carried away by statistics and paperwork, as he acknowledged that his side still needs God’s support and backing for them to fulfill their promise of lifting the trophy this Saturday at Onikan Waterfront.

He, however, also spoke with affirmation, while making a pledge for victory and disclosed that all players at the Ilorin-based club are determined to make their fans happy, as they go out for only the second ever FA Cup final that a team from Kwara State would qualify for in Nigeria’s football history.

Wasiu Alalade declared: “I’m using this opportunity to promise our fans that they should be rest assured that we are here to make history.

“We are here to make them happy, and we want to win this final. We will return home, Insha Allahu, with the trophy, by the grace of God.”
