2023/24 Season : Rivers State Referees Council Plans Thick For Her Referees

In a bid to build up her Referees for the 2023/2024 national fitness test for the next football season, the Rivers State (Football) Referees’ Council led by Charles Dennis Dima has scheduled Friday, 21st July, 2023 for her state fitness test exercise.

In statement signed by the General Secretary of the council, Elder Welcome George says “Distinguished gentlemen of the whistle, please be informed that 2023 state fitness test exercise is scheduled for Friday 21/7/23 at the Yakubu Gowon stadium Elikahia, Port Harcourt, the time is 7:00 am prompt”

With the personalities that is expected to conduct the fitness test exercise, it is expected that it’s going to take the standard of NFF form as the statement opined “the test which is free for all participants is expected to feature; NRA Vice president 1 Egnr. Sir, Emmanuel Emiere (FIFA Retired) and Peter Edibe (FIFA Retired) CAF/NRA Referee Instructor as resource persons”

The statement further requested all Football Referees’ Societies chairman in the council to make available their members, of all grades for the fitness, as it’s going serve as a yardstick for match appointment in the coming football season.

“All Societies Chairmen are by this notice requested to mobilize active referees within their jurisdictions for the all important fitness test exercise. Match appointment would be based on successful participation of this fitness test next season.” the statement concluded.
