Adedeji Oshin, chairman of Deluxe FC has revealed the long-term model by which the club will operate following a nervy 2-0 victory against Divine Praise FC at the ongoing 2022/23 NLO Division 2 game at the Surulere Legacy Pitch.

The astute sports lover and administrator conceded that the team hasn’t hit the target of the model of operation but they are close to it as he tips them to become the ‘Samba Boys Of Africa’.
Assessing the victory in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, Oshin, an obviously delighted man couldn’t hide his excitement to his team couping the maximum three points in the thrilling encounter.
“It feels good that the boys were able to win this game. I didn’t tell them that I was around, the coach didn’t know too. I just decided to show up, and spoke to them to be calm.”
“At half-time, I saw how the game was going and I had to go to the technical area and advice them and that was what led to the first and second goal,” he revealed on the influence of his presence on the boys.
On if the performance of the team is a model of how the club wants to operate – “We are getting there, not yet. Like Sporting Lagos, you are still going to see Deluxe in action, just give us a little time, and you will get to see Samba of Africa.”
Reminiscing on the motive behind the establishment of the club, Oshin allayed that his unwavering interest and passion for the sport was key to the project.
“Nigeria has a lot of potential putting aside the current situations of things in the country in Youths. I happen to be one of the wasted talents then, I usually play football but my dad wanted me to go to school so because of that, there was no support, and at the end of the day, I had to give up playing football.”
“Growing up, the passion was there and is still there. I can support the young boys instead of them being on the street, so that was why we came up with this team.
We have one in Lagos and another in Jos. With that, we are going to keep the young boys off the street,” Oshin stated.
“We started long ago between 2016/2017 in Ibadan but we had to move to Jos, from Jos, we decided to have one in Lagos but we are still trying to pick the right ones.”
Speaking further on the club’s foreign ties, “We have partnerships with a football club in Poland, Albania, and a couple of them in Turkey likewise Malta.
We decide to take them on training tours to gain experience and exposure so as to improve their game, we don’t drop them, instead, we help them develop their game to be better players,” he concluded.
Up next for Deluxe FC is the crunch clash against Luqui Moly on Saturday, July 29 before the last game of the season against North York FC.
