Lobi Stars abysmal run in the 2022/2023 NPFL Championship Play-offs continued to the final game day following a 3-1 loss to Sunshine Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Onikan Lagos Arena as they ended the campaign without a win but they did got a goal of their own in the tournament.
Albeit nothing visible at stake for both teams, determined Sunshine Stars took the deserved lead through Chukwude Stephen and was closely followed by Michael Olalusi to add a second going into half time.
Just shortly after the break, substitute Elijah Ani halved the deficit for Lobi Stars but thier joy was shortlived after Vincent Temitope who is also the captain of the side got his first goal of the tournament to seal the first win for Sunshine Stars.
Sunshine Stars picked thier first win, having a total of five points in the tournament and Lobi Stars rooted bottom of the log.
Meanwhile, Remo Stars will be hoping for a win although they need just a point to qualify for the CAF Confederations Cup as Enyimba against Rivers United result will prove the ultimate decider for the four teams.
