Remo Stars had taken the lead after a well-worked team goal going into half-time, upon resumption for the second half, Sunshine Stars wasted no time to get a goal of their own to restore parity, the goal proved to be crucial as the Ikenne-based club couldn’t find a winner with both teams eventually sharing the spoils much to the delight of the traveling Sunshine Stars fans and players alike.

The defender, Adeyemi Kehinde meanwhile is not giving up on the team’s continental chances despite being left with just two more games to go.

“Picking the second point is a big plus for us because initially, people thought we were going to lose this game but we appreciate this one point, with this result, we are still going to come together and build on it,” Kehinde allayed in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng

“Any team could have won because there were loads of chances created by both teams and that’s football for you and there’s nothing you can do about it. Our initial plan was to come and win but it’s still not lost,” he positively remarked.

“Our hopes are very much alive, we still have two more games and hopefully we are able to make it count and get a continental shot, I’m so certain that we can make something surprising for our fans with our determination.”

Matchday three of the Nigeria Professional Premier League Championship play-offs was without a win as all six teams shared the spoils to leave the title race open going into match day four.
