2022/2023 NLO Division 2: ‘We Were Punished For The Chances We Couldn’t Convert’, Yusuf Afolabi Admit After Loss To Divine Praise FC

Right Vision Choice FA attacking midfielder, Yusuf Afolabi has admitted that the team’s failure to convert their chances was what came back to hunt them as they fell to a 2-0 loss against Divine Praise FC on matchday three of the 2022/2023 NLO Division 2 campaign.

Divine Praise FC condemned Right Vision Choice FA to their third loss of the season following a deserved victory at the Surulere Legacy Pitch yesterday.

“We had our opportunities on several occasions but we didn’t utilize it, the opponent had theirs and used it very well but ours wasn’t converted which eventually came back to hunt us at the end.”

“The opponent realized that they had the game in their hands and as such were playing more defensively instead of attacking which made it so difficult for us to come back,” Afolabi explained

As thier search for a first win continues, the right footed midfielder conceded to a sluggish team start which has not been so helpful.

“In our first and second game, I will say it’s the fault of our officials. They get so angry and due to their anger, they use it on the team members which makes the player under pressure and they end up not performing to their best.”

“Today’s game was the fault of the players. We were blaming each other and some people were angry and that’s so bad. We hope to make amends on this and concentrate on the next game.”

“We are wining our next game definitely, we are coming back better and stronger, it’s the target before us now,” he stated.

With the result, it means Divine Praise FC kept their perfect record intact with three wins out of three games as they also top the group standings while Right Vision Choice FC search for a first win continues.
