16 Youth Clubs Register For 2nd Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge In Two Days

A total of 16 Delta and Edo State youth football clubs have registered for the 2nd Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge in just two days of the announcement of the competition.

What this means is that, there are indications that before the deadline for registration closes on December 19, the total number of registered teams may exceed the planned 24 teams for the 2022 edition of the competition.

Youth teams already registered for the competition in as the list continue to increase on a daily basis are: Sporting Fc of Warri, FC Planners of Ugheli, Lord Mark FA, Delta Warriors of Warri and Gold’s Penal Fc.

Others include, Golden Friends of Ekpoma, Lord Mark Fc, Lisbon Fc of Abraka, Odibo United, Galaxy Fc, Ichofe Wanderers, Justice Fc, Delta Rovers, Champions Cathedral Fc, Orion Fc and Delta Whales Fc.

According to the Technical Director of the competition, Mr. Marvel Dick, the registration of teams continue today and the organisers may have to stop receiving entries when the number of teams gets to 24 to avoid any technical mix up.

Marvel noted that, the draws for the 5-A-Side Football Challenge will be held on December 20, while event kicks off on December 21.The final match will be played on December 23 at the Nigerian Army Day Secondary School, Effurum, Warri where all the matches will be played.

The tournament sponsor, the 1997 African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba, will be on ground to watch matches at the event venue.
