Towards ensuring a successful flow of the Para-Games, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has constituted a 13-member local organising committee to promote inclusivity and continued development of the sector.

The LOC is chaired by the director of NSC’s National Sports Festival & Para Sports Department, Mrs. Thecla Opara, who will work along with Raphael Odo, Mohammed Rabiu, Abdullahi Libata and Lambu Umar.

Also in the LOC are Dr. Ozi Salami, Kola Daniel Adeyanju, Lanre Ogunjobi, Ebidowei Oweife, Issa Suleiman and Asaba Pius as members, while Mrs. Hauwa Saibu, serves as secretary.

NSC’s chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko charged the LOC to encourage fair play and sportsmanship, in line with global best practices, for a landmark edition of the third edition of Nigeria’s para-sports spectacle.

Sports247 recalls that the first edition took place in 2022 with 4,000 athletes from 21 states across 15 sports; while the second installment in 2024 had all 36 states and Federal Capital Territory in attendance.

The NSC’s Para Sports Department coordinates the Games in collaboration with Nigeria Paralympic Committee (NPC) and other stakeholders of special sports to ensure alignment with international standards.
