Mama of Africa U17 scouting invitational tournament 2nd edition kicks off Thursday 18th September, 2025 at Nawarudeen playing ground Ifo with 8 teams running through a knockout phase.
Concord Football Club face off against God’s Own FC for the first time away from friendly encounter. Both sides look more formidable in a tight contest to reach the semi-final of the 2nd edition.

The tense match manifested some eye-catching moments, with both teams creating scoring opportunities.
The blues as they are fondly called overturned a one-goal deficit from a well curled effort of Yinka Olagede in the 26th minute, to send the ball to the top right corner and settle for a lead .
Concord FC overturned the deficit from a well slotted free kick from Buhari Taiwo of 25 meter range from goal in the 33rd minute to draw level 1-1.
Buhari Taiwo, however, brought matters to rest, capitalising on a fruitful final third lobbed pass he created from the center half and pushed forward with another great effort after settling from a sublime pass with a beautiful finish to push the lead 2-1 in the 68th minute.
The results come as a comeback win for “the blues” and earn their way through to the last four.
After the game, the young prodigy said:
“It’s an honour to score a brace and a moment of comeback win for the team. He added, I’m excited to move a step closer to the finals.
Responding about the free kick goal and how he scored most of his goals from set pieces.
“I have learnt a lot from the biggest game player “Austin Jay Jay Okocha” and that gap hasn’t been filled up yet in the Super Eagles squad after his retirement.”
“I am ready to fill in the space of the missing link, dictating the pace of the game, connecting the team’s defense and offense.”
Buhari Taiwo is a young midfielder from Santos Sports Academy, known for providing assists, free kick specialist, creating chances for teammates, and pressing opponents to regain possession, he also read the game and finding passes (short and long). His work rate and tackling are topnotch.
However, Concord FC will be waiting for the outcome of the quarterfinal clash of Ultimate FC U17 against Favour-Rite FA U17 to unveil their semifinal pairs in a step to reach the scouting tournament final.
